Solution:
We needed to capture the exact steps for 249 procedures and provide a consistent outline for all the procedures yet to come. We developed templates for procedures and various types of training activities. The templates were very helpful in making sure that there was a connection between the task and the corporate culture.
The training templates were also essential. We didn’t want procedures to sit on a shelf. We wanted each employee to be able to do the task. We customized training for each of the types of tasks so there would be a consistent method for training new hires. All of the training is done on-the-job, so it was designed so the performance coach would master the task as well.
We made sure that Kara’s Cupcakes would be able to continue writing procedures and training once our project is over. Kara’s believes in cross-training employees. We believe in training our clients. They will be able to expand now that they have procedures that please their customers, increase sales, improve production methods, and wring waste from their operations.
